Prof. Adamu Ahmed has been appointed as the new Vice-Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, following the decision of the institution’s Governing Council.
According to a statement released by the Public Affairs Directorate, Office of the Vice-Chancellor, on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, Prof. Ahmed is a faculty member in the Department of Urban and Regional Planning at ABU.
A former Director of the Directorate of University Advancement at ABU, Prof. Ahmed currently serves as the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council at the Federal University of Education, Kano.
His appointment was officially announced at 6:15 a.m. during the 209th (Special) Council meeting, which was presided over by the Council Chairman, Mahmud Yayale Ahmed, CFR, the statement added.
