JUST IN: Obasa, Meranda, Lagos Lawmakers Hold Meeting Ahead of Plenary

By Abigail Philip David

Mudashiru Obasa, Mojisola Meranda, and other lawmakers of the Lagos State House of Assembly are currently holding a meeting outside the chambers.

The meeting, taking place ahead of the plenary initially scheduled for 1 p.m., has also drawn key political figures, including the Chairman of the Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Cornelius Ojelabi, and the state Attorney General, Lawal Pedro (SAN).

Amid growing speculation, unconfirmed reports suggest that the leadership crisis within the House may soon be resolved, with Meranda expected to step down.

Obasa arrived at the venue around 1:30 p.m. and joined the lawmakers under a tent where the discussions are taking place.

At present, Obasa, Meranda, Ojelabi, and the Attorney General have stepped aside from the larger group to hold a separate meeting.
