Nasarawa Accountant General Urges Prayers for Leaders as Ramadan Begins

From Abel Zwànke, Lafia

The Accountant General of Nasarawa State, Dr. Musa Ahmed Muhammad, has extended his greetings to the Muslim Ummah as they commence the holy month of Ramadan, urging them to use the period for deep reflection and prayers for the leadership of the state and the nation.

In a statement issued on Sunday  Muhammad described Ramadan as a time of spiritual renewal, unity, and compassion, calling on Muslims to uphold its core values.

“Ramadan embodies the principles of self-discipline, empathy, and unity. It is a time when we come together to strengthen our faith, engage in acts of kindness, and support those in need within our communities,” he said.

He specifically called on the people of Nasarawa State to pray for the administration of Governor Abdullahi A. Sule, asking Allah to grant him wisdom and strength to lead the state to greater heights.

“In this blessed season, I urge all citizens of Nasarawa State to dedicate their prayers to the continued progress and prosperity of our state under the leadership of His Excellency, Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule. May Allah grant him the wisdom and strength to lead our state beyond expectations, fostering development and unity among our people,” Muhammad stated.

He also extended his appeal to the entire nation, urging Nigerians to pray for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, asking for divine guidance and resilience to enable him to lead the country toward peace, stability, and economic growth.

“Furthermore, I call upon all Nigerians to remember our nation and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in their prayers. Let us ask Allah to provide him with the guidance and resilience necessary to steer our country towards peace, stability, and economic growth,” he added.

Muhammad further encouraged Muslims to uphold the virtues of tolerance, compassion, and mutual respect, emphasizing that these values are essential for national progress.

“As we observe fasting and engage in spiritual activities, let us also embody the virtues of tolerance, compassion, and mutual respect. Together, we can build a society grounded in justice, equity, and collective well-being,” he said.

The Accountant General concluded by praying for Allah’s blessings on the state and the nation, urging Muslims to make the most of the holy month.
