Oborevwori says administration committed to welfare, safety of Corps members in Delta

Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State on Tuesday said that his administration remains fully committed to the welfare and safety of Corps members deployed to the state.

Oborevwori was speaking at the Terminal Parade and Closing Ceremony of the 2025 Batch ‘A’ Stream 1 Orientation Course for Corps members deployed to Delta State at the Permanent Orientation Camp, Issele-Uku, Aniocha North Local Government Area of the State.

The governor, represented by the State Commissioner for Youth Development, Barr. Trakiriowei Harry ThankGod stated;
“we have engaged all stakeholders, communities, security agencies and employers, to ensure your well-being is prioritized”.

He added that the state government has encouraged the private sector and corps employers to support their efforts, particularly through sponsorship of community development service projects.

These collaborative efforts, the governor said would not only uplift communities but also empower Corps members to become agents of meaningful change.

According to Oborevwori, we will continue to recognize and reward excellence. Corps Members who distinguish themselves through innovation, dedication and outstanding service will be celebrated.

The governor, who formally declared the 2025 Batch ‘A’ Stream 1 Orientation Course for Corps Members deployed to Delta State closed urged them to make meaningful contributions to the development of their communities as they proceed to their various places of primary assignment.

“Identify and implement projects that address local needs, serving with passion, humility and integrity.

“Let your presence create a positive and lasting impact in your host communities”, he stressed.

Earlier, the State Coordinator, NYSC Delta State, Mr. John Kwaghe expressed appreciation to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for his continued support, as evident in the ongoing internal roads network construction and
other up coming infrastructural development within the Orientation Camp.

Kwaghe noted the exemplary conduct of Corps members over the past three weeks was highly commendable.

According him, you have demonstrated discipline, maturity, and patriotism. With the support of our collaborating agencies, you have been thoroughly oriented and prepared to contribute meaningfully to national development.

He encourage them to identify the felt needs of their host communities and initiate impactful Community development projects,

“These projects will go a long way in improving the standard of living and fostering sustainable growth in those communities”, he stated.
