Sultan Commends Sokoto Governor for Delegating Authority to Deputy

The Sultan of Sokoto and spiritual leader of Nigeria’s Muslims, His Eminence Sultan Sa’ad Abubakar III, has commended Governor Ahmad Aliyu of Sokoto State for granting his deputy broad authority to manage state affairs in his absence.

In a statement issued by the Director of Press to the Deputy Governor, Garba Muhammad, the Sultan praised Governor Aliyu’s leadership style, describing it as a commendable example of trust and effective delegation. He emphasized that such an approach reflects strong teamwork and confidence in subordinates—qualities he urged other leaders to emulate.

Sultan Abubakar also advised the state government to maintain transparency by keeping citizens informed about key issues affecting them. He noted that open communication can help curb misinformation and build public trust.

While acknowledging the government’s efforts in addressing insecurity, the Sultan called for intensified action, citing the damaging impact of insecurity on socio-economic development in the state and across the nation.

As the 20th Sultan of Sokoto, Sultan Sa’ad Abubakar III holds significant influence as the spiritual leader of Nigeria’s Muslim community. His endorsement of Governor Aliyu’s leadership approach and his call for greater security efforts highlight pressing governance issues in the country.
