Nigerian music star Darey Art Alade and his wife, Deola, are safe and grateful after a terrifying incident on Lagos’ 3rd Mainland Bridge where their car caught fire and was completely destroyed.
Deola shared the news via Instagram on Saturday, revealing that the fire broke out around 4 p.m. on Friday. She posted videos from the scene, showing the charred remains of the vehicle.
“Yesterday, around 4 p.m., our car caught fire on the 3rd Mainland Bridge and burnt to the ground,” she wrote. “It was a shocking and painful experience, but we’re incredibly grateful that the driver made it out safely. No lives were lost, and that’s what truly matters.”
Deola reflected on the fragility of life and the insignificance of material possessions in moments like this, saying, “We’re not sharing this for sympathy but to remind someone that things can be replaced. Lives cannot.”
She offered words of encouragement to others dealing with sudden loss: “We can rebuild. We can begin again and find the strength to keep going. One breath, one prayer, one step at a time.”
The couple expressed deep gratitude to bystanders who stopped to help and to everyone who has reached out with support. Since the announcement, their social media pages have been flooded with prayers and goodwill messages from fans, friends, and fellow celebrities.
