NCPC Suspends Pilgrimage To Israel Amid Israel- Iran Crisis

By Joyce Remi-Babayeju

The Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC) has suspended
pilgrimage to Israel and other Holy Sites amid the ongoing Israel-Iran Crisis.
This was contained in a press release signed by NCPC Celestine Toruka Deputy Director and Head Media. Celestine Toruka made available to Daybreak on Tuesday in z
Abuja.
The Executive Secretary of the NCPC, Bishop Stephen Adegbite stated that the 2025 pilgrimage suspension was due to the ongoing tensions between Israel and Iran, which escalated on June 13, 2025.
Reacting to rumours that Nigerian pilgrims are currently in Israel , Bishop Adegbite emphasized
that no Christian pilgrimage will occur in Israel until the crisis is resolved.
He disclosed the Commission’s 2024 pilgrimage to Israel ended in March 2025.
However, the Commission said that it is closely monitoring the situation.

Bishop Adegbite dismissed reports of Nigerian pilgrims in Israel as false and unfounded, reiterating that NCPC is the statutory body responsible for coordinating Christian pilgrimages from Nigeria to Israel and other holy sites worldwide.
