The leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Sokoto State, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, has paid condolence visits to several families across Sokoto metropolis, Dange Shuni and Wamakko local government areas.
In Sokoto metropolis, Senator Wamakko visited the Kalfu area to commiserate with the family of the late Alhaji Chika Sodangi Bawa Kalfu. He also condoled with the relatives of Malama Surayya Ibrahim at Ubadoma Road, following her death after a brief illness.
The Senator, accompanied by political associates and community leaders, proceeded to Dange Shuni Local Government Area, where he visited Bashir Shuni and later extended condolences to the family of the late Zainab Suleman in Dambuwa. Zainab was a sister to Suleman Mahmud, Special Assistant to the Senator on student matters.
At Dange Shuni, Wamakko was received by the council chairman, Aminu Magaji Bodai, and the Special Adviser on Industrial Development Agency, Hon. Abubakar Buda Amanawa.
In Wamakko Local Government, the former governor visited Kaura village to sympathize with the family of the late Hajiya Hauwa’u Kaura Wamakko. He also paid condolences to the families of the late Dangaladima Baura, Isah Mai Karfi and Atto Ajiya Barga in Wamakko town.
Bashar Abubakar, in a statement, said the APC leader described the deaths as shocking and a great loss, while praying to Almighty Allah to forgive the deceased and grant them Jannatul Firdausi.
Earlier on Saturday, Senator Wamakko visited the Rungumi area to console the family of the late Alhaji Aminu Rungumi. He also visited Unguwar Rogo in the metropolis, where he condoled with the family of the late District Head of Sarkin Zamfara Danchadi, Alhaji Yusuf Garba Danchadi.
During the visit, the District Head of Gwadabawa, Muhammad Lawal Zayyana, who spoke on behalf of the family, thanked Senator Wamakko for the condolence and prayed for Allah’s guidance upon him.
The condolence visits continued in Wurno Local Government Area, where Senator Wamakko sympathized with the District Head of Wurno, Alhaji Kabiru Cigari Alhassan, over the death of his wife, Hajiya Halimatus Sadiya Kabiru Cigari. The council chairman, Abba Isah Sadiq Acida, also received the Senator and his entourage.
At all locations, Islamic scholars offered special prayers for Allah’s blessings, mercy, and forgiveness for the departed souls.
Senator Wamakko was accompanied on the visits by the Head of Service, Sulaiman S/Fulani Ahmadu, the Commissioner for Solid Minerals, Yusuf Muhammad Maccido, special advisers, clerics, and traditional rulers.
