The Minister of FCT, Barr. Nyesom Wike has told residents of Karu and its environs that the dualization and rebuilding of Karu, Customs Junction, EFCC Karshi roads is the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s government for the people.
Wike stated this on Wednesday when a teeming population of Karu residents came to witness the flag- off of the dualization of the stretch of Karu Karshi road.
The FCT Minister, who expressed joy at the excited residents who had come out to appreciate the Renewed Hope Agenda, said, “We are going to rebuild Custom Clinic Junction to CBN Quarter Junction. We will rebuild immediately Custom Clinic Junction to EFCC.”
“We are also going to rebuild NIA Quarters Road, which is here. We will rebuild karshi Road. And we will rebuild Primus Hospital Road.”
Wike noted that with the roads construction and streetlights, Karu
environment will wear a new look.
He stated that Karu is part of the city, but it is included as a satellite town because of its bad roads.
The minister promised that Karu would take its place as part of the city with the rebuilding and dualization of good roads, in addition to the recent flag-off of the provision of water to the satellite towns from Karu, to Orozo to the Karishi area,
Wike emphasized that the essence of democracy is not about rhetoric but it is about keeping to promises made by politicians and citizens holding them to their words.
“Remember, I said before, that it’s important that when you have elected people, and when the people you have elected have made promises, they owe you that duty to fulfill the promises they have made. And therefore, you have to hold us accountable.”
The minister urged residents to ask politicians they have voted into power questions .
He further charged contractors handling the road projects to keep to their delivery promises, adding that the Karu- Karshi new road project is already lined up for Mr. President’s third year anniversary commissioning.
