Hon. Kumo Celebrates Nigeria at 65, Hails Tinubu’s Leadership, Calls for End to National Ills

HON. DATTUWA ALI KUMO CELEBRATES NIGERIA AT 65, SALUTES PRESIDENT TINUBU’S COURAGEOUS LEADERSHIP, INSISTS ON END TO NATIONAL ILLS

Honourable Dattuwa Ali Kumo, Chairman of the Governing Board of the Industrial Training Fund (ITF), has hailed Nigerians on the nation’s 65th Independence Anniversary, applauding President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his courageous and transformative leadership while declaring that insecurity, corruption, and poverty must be confronted without compromise.

Hon. Kumo described Nigeria at 65 as a watershed moment in the country’s history, urging both leaders and citizens to rise above mediocrity and match the resilience of Nigerians with purposeful governance. He commended the sacrifices of ordinary citizens who, in the face of daunting hardship, continue to keep faith with the Nigerian project.

According to him, “At 65, Nigeria cannot afford excuses. This is a season for renewal and action. Under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, we are witnessing a fearless pursuit of reform—removing fuel subsidy distortions, stabilizing the naira, reforming the public service, driving industrial growth, and creating opportunities for young people. These steps may be painful, but they are the only road to national rebirth.”

Hon. Kumo, who chairs the Industrial Training Fund Board, emphasized his commitment to strengthening vocational and technical education as a core driver of employment and productivity.

He, however, warned that insecurity, corruption, and poverty remain deep wounds that must be decisively healed if Nigeria is to claim her rightful place among the world’s leading nations. “We must not tolerate banditry, terrorism, or economic sabotage. We must not excuse corruption in any form. And we must fight poverty with deliberate, people-centered policies. These cancers must be destroyed if we are serious about building a nation of pride and power.”

Hon. Kumo called on Nigerian youths to rally behind President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda by embracing innovation, unity, and patriotism. He also charged political leaders across party lines to align with the President’s vision for transformation, warning that history will not forgive complacency or betrayal at this critical juncture.

While congratulating Nigerians on this historic Independence milestone, Hon. Dattuwa Ali Kumo expressed unshakable confidence that the bold reforms of the Tinubu administration will reposition Nigeria as a global force. He prayed for peace, stability, and prosperity, affirming that with courage, sincerity, and unity of purpose, Nigeria will rise again as the giant of Africa.
