National Youth Alliance Vows to Continue as Movement Until Youth Lead Nigeria

By Jabiru Hassan

The National Youth Alliance (NYA) has reaffirmed its commitment to shaping a new Nigeria led by a patriotic and visionary generation of youth, following its National Executive Council (NEC) meeting in Abuja.

During extensive deliberations, the NYA called for a generational shift in leadership, asserting that the older political order has failed and that Nigerian youth must now take responsibility for the nation’s future. The alliance emphasized the need for integrity, innovation, and courage among emerging leaders.

The NYA also issued a caution to both government and opposition parties, warning against exploiting young Nigerians for political gain. “Our youth deserve empowerment, not manipulation,” the NEC stated.

Security concerns were highlighted as a major issue. The NEC expressed serious alarm over rising insecurity across the country and urged the government to take decisive, proactive measures to protect lives and property.

On the issue of political participation, the NYA condemned the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) continued refusal to register the alliance as a political party, despite meeting all legal requirements. The group described this as a violation of democratic rights and pledged to challenge the decision through all legitimate channels.

Until such justice is achieved, the NYA declared it will continue to operate as a national youth movement. The alliance aims to unite young Nigerians and drive the rebirth of the nation, focusing on a Nigeria that works for all citizens.

The NYA concluded by urging young Nigerians to remain united, organized, and dedicated to its mission of fostering responsible, youth-led governance.
