Gov. Ishaku presents over N200 billion budget for 2020

Taraba state Governor , Arc. Darius Dickson Ishaku has presented a N213, 632,76, 810 billion proposed appropriation for 2020 fiscal year.

Ishaku who presented the budget on Thursday at the State House of Assembly in Jalingo, said his administration have resolved to make the state a leading economy state in the country before the year 2015.

The Governor who Tagged the budget as budget of “Accelerated Growth and Development, said the budget presentation is a key constitutional provision which the executive arm of the government respect ” his administration, according to him “will remain focus and deliver more dividends of democracy as promised during our election campaigns. ”

Lauding the legislative arm of the government for the hands of friendship extended to the executive, which further spurred him to seek for additional support in order to “to push the state ahead ” his administration as made known by him, “will place high premium to the completion of all ongoing projects. ”

Stressing that the state was guided by micro economy variables , which includes the Gross Domestic Project (GDP) , the United States dollar exchange rates among others, , his administration, he said would again work tirelessly round the clock to ensure the full implementation of the budget.

Elated by the decision of the governor to christian the 2020 budget as the budget of accelerated growth and development, the Speaker, Joseph Albasu Kunini, lauded the efforts of the governor for being “meticulous ” in the implementation of all the budgetary allocations as appropriated by the members.

This, according to him “has no doubt made your administration quite eventful as examplified by your execution of both the recurrent and capital projects across the state.”

The governor, as stated by him, has in “no small measures, consistently demonstrate a huge sense of good governance to the good people of the state, thereby touching their lives through various people oriented projects, programmes and policies. ”

Optimistic that the budget, when passed into law, that the implementation will further consolidate on the numerous gains already “recorded over the year.

Assuring the governor of the “willingness and readiness “of the members to give the budget the desired attention “with a view to passing it in a good time for its implementation.”

The speaker who further noted that the budget has taken into cognizance what the members “intends to do the people of the state” agreed that the budget ‘is indeed a budget of accelerated growth and development.

The budget which was observed by our correspondent has an increased of over N7 billion of the 2019 budget, gave the highest allocation to the Ministry of Works With N77,30,421.517 billion followed by both the Ministries of Health and education with N14 and N11 billion naira respectively
