The Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has called on residents to embrace unity, hard work, and patriotism as his administration intensifies efforts to deliver people-centered governance. In his New Year message to Kogites, Governor Ododo expressed gratitude to Almighty God for protection and guidance throughout the past year, acknowledging that 2025 tested the resilience of citizens but strengthened their collective resolve.
The governor highlighted modest but significant gains across key sectors, including security, infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture, and youth and women empowerment. He attributed the progress to discipline, unity of purpose, and citizens’ cooperation.“ Despite challenges, Kogi State has made meaningful strides in critical areas. The New Year presents renewed hope and a stronger resolve to do more through prudent resource management and inclusive governance,” he said.
Governor Ododo reaffirmed that security remains a top priority. He assured residents of continued collaboration with security agencies and community stakeholders to sustain peace, stressing that meaningful development can only thrive in a secure environment.He urged citizens to reject division and embrace cooperation, describing the state’s diversity as a strength to be harnessed for collective progress in both urban and rural communities.
Reiterating his administration’s commitment to integrity, transparency, and compassion, Governor Ododo expressed optimism that 2026 would bring shared prosperity and greater achievements for the state.The governor also encouraged continued support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, noting that federal reforms have strengthened the economy and expanded resources available to sub-national governments for development.He concluded by wishing all Kogites a peaceful, prosperous, and fulfilling New Year and prayed for continued progress for the state and the nation.
