BREAKING: AFCON 2025: Super Eagles Rout Mozambique to Reach Quarter-Finals

Nigeria booked a place in the quarter-finals of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations after cruising to a dominant 4–0 victory over Mozambique on Monday night.

The win marked a historic achievement for the Super Eagles, as it was the first time they have won their opening four matches at the tournament.

Eric Chelle’s side topped Group C with a perfect record, once again asserting their dominance over the Mambas in Fez.

Ademola Lookman set the tone by opening the scoring and later providing the assist as Victor Osimhen doubled Nigeria’s advantage before halftime. Osimhen struck again shortly after the restart, completing his brace following another assist from Lookman.

Nigeria sealed the emphatic win when Akor Adams fired home a powerful effort from inside the box.

The Super Eagles will now face the winner of the quarter-final clash between Burkina Faso and DR Congo.
