The FCT Minister, Barr. Nyesom Wike on Tuesday started major inspection of key projects in the territory in preparation for the “Abuja @50” Golden celebration hailing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration behind Abuja’s transformed landscaping.
To mark Abuja’s Golden Jubilee, FCT Minister Nyesom Wike conducted an extensive inspection of ongoing infrastructure projects today, declaring that President Bola Tinubu’s administration has fundamentally altered the city’s landscape.
Speaking to newsmen after his visits major several construction sites, Wike expressed undaunted satisfaction with the pace of work, particularly at the Outer Southern Expressway (OSEX) and the Apo-Wassa road network.
The minister who started his inspection from Gishiri, said the road network is part of projects slated for inauguration within the administration’s third year anniversary.
Next was the OSEX/Ring Road I area bridge construction, to the Apo-Wassa sector—a critical hub intended for Apo traders inspection.
“I am quite impressed by this initiative. We are handling three major jobs.”
” These are expected to be completed, I hope, by August, while the work in the OSEX area will be delivered as part of the third-year anniversary”, Wike affirmed.
Referring to the FCT’s 50th Anniversary (February 3, 2026), Wike hailed Abuja’s recent infrastructure drive, adding that it is more than just a celebration.
“Over the past three years—and this isn’t merely a Golden Jubilee celebration—the President’s tenure has changed the landscape of the FCT,” which strictly adhere to the Abuja Master Plan.
Addressing the recent industrial action by the Joint Unions Action Committee (JUAC), Wike dismissed claims of a “setback.”
“At the end of the day, there is no winner or loser; this is about the interests of the FCT and its continued progress, Wike said.
However, the minister said that union leadership had seen the reality of the progress firsthand, clearing up misconceptions, noting
that conditions are now the best option for workers to return to their duty posts.
