Governor Mutfwang Marks 61st Birthday with Major Investments in Education, Water, Roads, and Traditional Institutions in Plateau

Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang used his 61st birthday to launch several initiatives aimed at improving public education, water supply, road infrastructure, and support for traditional institutions across Plateau State.

Education for All

Governor Mutfwang flagged off the distribution of teaching and learning materials to public schools, commissioned new administrative offices, and recognized students who excelled at the National Basic Education School Sports Competition. Since 2024, his administration has constructed 397 classrooms, renovated 557, installed 33 motorized boreholes, and distributed over 33,685 sets of furniture. Plans for 2026 include 68 new classrooms, 313 renovations, and 20 additional boreholes.

Water Infrastructure

The Governor commissioned the rehabilitated Yelwa Water Treatment Plant and signed contracts worth over ₦28 billion with Chinese firms for upgrading water treatment facilities and distribution networks, aiming to modernize aging infrastructure and ensure reliable access to clean water in Jos and surrounding communities.

Road Development

Construction began on a 17-kilometre strategic road linking Haske Gwafan and Kwanga A & B communities, improving connectivity across Jos East, North, and South Local Government Areas and connecting key institutions such as schools and hospitals.

Strengthening Traditional Institutions

Governor Mutfwang presented SUVs to first-class traditional rulers, recognizing their role as custodians of community leadership and promoting collaboration between government and traditional institutions.Through these initiatives, the administration continues to prioritize practical solutions for citizens, enhance social infrastructure, and support sustainable development across Plateau State.
