The Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kogi State Council, will hold its 2026 Press Week on March 26 at Edge Drive Hotel in Lokoja. Chairman of the organising committee, Richard Elesho, disclosed this in a statement on Thursday, noting that the event will include a fundraising drive aimed at generating ₦250 million for the construction of a secretariat for the chapel.
According to the organisers, the programme will feature a public lecture to be delivered by Femi Ajisafe, as well as the conferment of awards on individuals recognised for contributions to public service. Those listed for recognition include Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, Yahaya Bello, Olayemi Akinwumi, Sule Salihu Enehe, Daramola Omoyele, and Leke Abejide.
Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo is expected as Special Guest of Honour, while the Ohimegye Igu of Kotonkarfe, Seidu Akawu, will serve as Royal Father of the Day. Other dignitaries expected include Dahiru Mangal and Olatunji Olusoji, who will serve as principal launchers. NUJ Zone D Vice President Momohjimoh Adeiza is listed as Chief Host, while the Kogi State Commissioner for Information and Communication, Kingsley Femi Fanwo, will host the event.
