The Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) has commissioned an 11kV Dundu Band A feeder at the Jogana Injection Substation to improve power reliability for industrial customers in Kano. The project, inaugurated on behalf of Managing Director/CEO Abubakar Shuaibu Jimeta and represented by Chief Technical Officer Kassim Burkullu, is part of efforts to strengthen electricity distribution and support economic activities in the state.
According to KEDCO, the feeder will enhance electricity supply along Hadeja Road and the Tokarawa axis, key industrial areas that rely on stable power for operations. The Band A classification is expected to provide extended hours of electricity, reduce downtime, and improve productivity for businesses.The project was delivered with support from KEDCO’s core investor, Future Energies Africa, as part of broader investments aimed at upgrading infrastructure and improving service delivery.
Speaking at the event, Burkullu said the initiative aligns with the company’s strategy to modernise its network and ensure reliable power supply, particularly for high-demand customers. KEDCO noted that the Jogana Injection Substation remains a critical part of its distribution network, supporting load expansion and improved supply quality across Kano and neighbouring areas. The company described the project as a step forward in its ongoing efforts to enhance operational efficiency and meet growing energy demands.
