Borno state Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum,at the weekend, shelved a 3 days official tour to Ngala local government area,to sympathize with Internally Displaced Person (IDPs) over a fire incident in an IDP camp which claimed lives and property and also distribute some relief materials when he received the sad news of the demise of Mal. Abba Kyari, the Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari.
On receiving the sad news,Governor Zulum mobilized the IDPs in different camps in Ngala local government to offer prayers to God for the repose of Mal. Abba Kyari, late chief of staff to President Muhammadu Buhari,who hailed from Bama in the state.
The governor received the sad news at Gamboru, a border town in Ngala, where he passed the night, while on humanitarian visit to condole the people of the IDPs and also supervise distribution of food, cash and textiles to about 50 thousand internally displaced persons in different camps.
Zulum further said ” I urge all of us here to pray for one of our own. Someone who was sincerely passionate about the fight against Boko Haram towards peace-building and restoration in Borno state, the northeast and Nigeria. I will like this gathering of Imams to lead prayers for the late chief of staff to have eternal peace. May Allah forgive his shortcomings, admit him into aljanna and give his family, other loved ones and the people of Borno state the fortitude to bear his demise”
The Governor had made similar calls at different IDP camps in both Ngala and Gamboru towns where he addressed displaced persons.
While shelving his 3 days plan visit to Ngala local government area over the demise of Alhaji Abba Kyari, Governor Babagana Umara Zulum due to the humanitarian needs of IDPs went round all the camps to assure them that measures were put in place for the State Emergency Management Agency and other assigned officials to carry-on with transparent distribution of N5,000 cash and wrappers to 25,000 women as well as bags of food varieties to 20,000 male heads of households.
On arriving Ngala town from Maiduguri, Governor Zulum was a large camp for IDPs to sympathize with families of persons who lost their lives and those injured. The Governor assessed extent of damages and held meeting with camp officials and management of the SEMA towards preventive future reoccurances
