Shun corruption, Anambra CP warns 228 newly recruited constables

The Commissioner of Police in Anambra, Mr John Abang, has cautioned the 228 constables newly posted to the state to shun corrupt practices and be civil while discharging their duties.

The police constables who are all indigenes of the state recently passed out from training at the Police College, Orji River in Enugu State.

Addressing the constables on Saturday in Awka, Abang congratulated them for their successful training and wished them a robust  carrier in the force.

He said they would all be deployed to their respective Local Governments Areas of origin, in accordance with the directives of the Inspector-General of Police, Mr Mohammed Adamu.

“Be civil to members of the public when discharging your constitutional duties with humility, honesty and respect for human rights.

“You are also to refrain from all manners of corrupt practices and indiscipline. Anyone caught and found guilty will be shown the way out of the force,” the commissioner warned.
