Nigerian minister speaks against rape

Nigeria’s minister of Humaniatarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development Hajiya Sadiya Umar Farouq  has supported the calls to check rape in Nigeria.

She made the call in reaction to the murder of UNIBEN student Vera Omozuwa by suspected rapist, saying, ” I am deeply worried by the rising incidents of rape and sexual assault especially with Miss Uwa’s murder in Benin City”, Sadiya tweeted Wednesday. Rape is a crime and a violation and must not be condoned. As a woman and mother, I add my voice to the chorus – #EndRapeinNigeria #JusticeforUwa #enoughisenough,” she stated..
