BREAKING: A’Ibom APC chairman dies

The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress,APC, in Akwa Ibom, Mr Ini Okopido, has been reported dead.

News of the party Chairman’s death which has been trending since early hours of Wednesday was first made public by the party faithfuls through their various Facebook posts..

From what was gathered from the various posts, “Okopido died in the early hours of today amid tears and efforts by family members and concerned friends to keep the Chairman alive”.

Information available to our correspondent has it that Okopido died after battling with suspected chronic pile disease, though many have linked his death to spiritual forces.

The demise is said to have thrown the APC in the state into deep mourning , considering, especially the fact that the late party Chairman’s elder brother and former Minister of State for Environment, Dr Ime Okopido died some months ago and is yet to be buried.

One of the party faithful, Mr Thomas Thomas who took to his Facebook page to announce the death said, “a fine gentleman, treading down the path of every mortal. The soil will rejoice, even the worms that can’t even read will dance upon receiving this Okopidopedia. Sad! How I wish…Sad!”

Another strong member of the APC, Mr Uduak Ikpat wrote “What a Black Wednesday for the Progressives’ family…It’s confirmed!”

However Nkereuwem Enyongekere, State Publicity Secretary of the APC, when contacted said he was not aware of the Chairman’s demise as the party has yet to be given any official information
