The National Democratic Support Group (NDSG) has advised the Nigeria Labour Congress NLC to cancel it’s planned nationwide strike and continue negotiations with the federal government especially at this time when the nations are facing economic challenges across the globe.
In a press statement signed and issued to Daybreak news correspondent in kano by the group’s Chairman, Alhaji Dauda Muhammad Ali, the group said that ” embarking in strike at this would fuel another hardships in this country especially at present when the citizens are struggling for survival”.
NSDG added that the Nigerian labour congress should rather focus on talks with labour ministry in order to find a lasting solution to the ongoing tussle between the workers unions and the federal government in different issues, where they called on the Nigeria’s citizens to remained law abiding for peace to reign in the country.
It could be recalled that the Nigerian labour congress had planned to embark in an indefinite strike starting from tomorrow Monday in protesting the fuel increase in the country despite mant efforts being made by the federal government to resolve the issue with the labour unions.
Our correspondent who had a series of an interviews with kano residents reported that all the people who spoke wit Daybreak News called on the Nigerian labour congress to cancel the planned strike and continue negotiations with the federal government for the interest of the nation.
