The Jama’atu Nasiril Islam (JNI) Kaduna state has accused one reverend Jonah Gangar of allegedly abducting a Muslim girl and forcefully converted her to Christianity.

The Islamic body said the Muslim girl, Sadiya Idris, was 12 years old, when she was abducted and sent to mission school in Jos plateau state.

The JNI said it has approached a court for prosecution of the offender

The lady, Shadya Idris, who is now 19 years old said she was taken to  mission secondary school by the alleged abductor in Jos.

Shadya Idris, told our correspondent during an interview that she became missing from her father”s house in Kaduna and was found and taken to the Rev Jonah Gangar house in Kaduna by a good Samaritan the next day.

Sadiya also revealed that she had been going and coming back to Kaduna state during holidays without going to the parents house for years while in  boarding school in Jos under the sponsorship of Gangar.

Revered Gangar, who couldn’t be reached by the time of filing this report, is also being accused of abducting the Muslim girl and forcefully converted her to Christianity and keeping her incommunicado from her parent for years.

During the press conference in Kaduna JNI said the briefing became imperative to make the activities of some criminal element hiding under religion to perpetrate evil in the society.

The JNI statement partly read,
“The JNI Kaduna state find it necessary to make the activities of some criminal elements who hide under religion to perpetuate evil in the society, public, so that people of good consciences and government will take proper action against them” .

JIN insisted the 12 years old Sadiya was abducted by reverend Jonah Gangar in 2013 took her to a Christian  missionary school in Jos and forcefully converted her to Christianity, and denied her access to her parent and her religion.

“No one could say the level of abuse, rape and trauma Sadiya have undergone under Rev. Jonah Gangar.
“We are grateful to almighty Allah for saving Sadiya who after 12 years under a
traumatized and dehumanized situation escaped from her captives and run to search for her parent in Kaduna.

“Jama’atu Nasril Islam wishes to call on Federal and state Governments, particularly the state and Federal Ministries of Women Affairs and other Child
right activists, to rally round and ensure the criminal elements never go scot free.

“The stealing of Sadiya Idris must be made to serve as deterrents to others who
may wish to do same in future as Governments and other civil society actions against these criminal elements will reduce the pain, abused, trauma and
dehumanization that Sadiya might have undergone under her captives for 13 years”, they said.

JNI also call on FOMWAN, and Islamic legal body, to as a matter of urgency, send
their lawyers in respect to “this case, already in court, to ensure justice is served as the right of a Muslimah has been trampled upon.

“In the end we are also drawing the attention of the State Government to take this Issue serious because the Muslim community is keenly and
curiously following the case and any attempt to abort justice in this case
will be resisted defiantly”, they said.

The text of the conference was signed by brahim Kufana,
Sheik Musa Assadussunah for JNI, Kaduna State Chapter and the JIBWIS Youth, Kaduna State Chapter. Others are Sheikh Abdullahi Babayaro for Da’awah Kaduna State Chapter and Abubakar Auwal for: CSO respectively. Finds that the matter is going to court for trial against the reverend in question.
