The campaign team of All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Kwara State Alhaji AbdulRahaman AbdulRasaq has called on various security agencies in the state to investigate the incessant fake news that is now becoming order of the day in the state especially on social media which can lead to break down of laws and order if not check on time.
The director of Media and publicity of AA campaign organisation, comrade Abdulrasheed Akogun made this call in a statement made available to the journalists on Wednesday.
The statement reads in part:
”We could recall that the rumour arrest of Comrade Musbau Esinrogunjo broke out on social media yesterday by some supporters of PDP, and they added that “Musbau passed Monday night in the police custody and he might not be released until after general elections”
According to him “It has come to the notice of the Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq campaign organisation the unceasing attempts to cause disaffection amongst the peace loving people of Kwara State over the hoax arrest of Comrade Musbau Esinrogunjo and some top members of our party by elements suspected to be under the sponsorship of the outgoing Peoples Democratic Party led government of Kwara State”
“It is no longer news that the delectable Comr. Musbau Esinrogunjo, who is the Director of Youth of our campaign organisation is one of the strong front liners of the OTOGE movement, the love and support he enjoys from the masses of Kwara is no doubt a major source of headache to the hegemony and their few apologists hence the unending attempt to get him out of circulation by all foul means possible”
“We challenge all relevant stakeholders and security agencies to up their duties by uncovering enemies of peace that are behind that devilish rumour that is now turning to daily occurrence on social media. If this is not quickly given priority attention it can eventually lead to break down of law and order in the state”
“We use this opportunity to reiterate the resolve of the OTOGE team to continue to engage Kwarans across divides, while we also enjoin our members and the teeming supporters as well as advocates of a better Kwara which the OTOGE mantra and movement represents that we remain resolute in our resolve to birth a prosperous Kwara that works for all come February 16and March 2, 2019 when the Presidential and Gubernatorial elections shall be held respectively”.
