The minister of works Babatunde Raji Fashola has been called upon to constitute a high powered committee that would supervise the ongoing repairs at Kano-Daura road which is substandard despite that the the road is is not dual carriage and is being used by high number of motorists linking to some neighbouring countries.
The call was made by the national democratic support group(NDSG) in a press statement signed and issued to Daybreak correspondent in kano, by it’s national president, Alhaji Abdullahi Maigata where they disclosed that the potholes that were filled still becoming a threat to vehicles owners while some portions needing complete overlay to makes the highway more safer.
The group said that” we respect FERMA which was established to repair Nigeria’s roads but what is being some at Kano-Daura road needs more attention because due to the high number of accidents that were usually caused as a result of dilapidated road”. The statement said.
In conclusion, the group commended the minister for works and his ministry for taking good measures on the Nigerian roads, hoping that the ongoing walls fixings on top of Dambatta road would also be look upon because the ones that are being installed cannot serve the propose.
