Results from Ekiti, Osun, Kwara and Nssarawa has indicated that President Muhammad Buhari is taking the lead in the ongoing Collation of results of the Presidential election held on Saturday February 23rd.
According to the Returning Officer for the Ekiti election, Prof. Idowu Olayinka, the All Progressives Congress, APC, scored 219,231 while the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP scored 154, 032 out of the 393,708 total votes cast, while the rejected votes stood at 12,577 and the total valid vote was put at 381,132.
In the case of Osun, as declared by Returning Officer, Prof. Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, APC polled 347, 634, while PDP polled 337,377 out of 731,882 total votes cast. The rejected votes stood at 17,200, while cancelled votes was 12,082 and 714,682 as the total votes cast.
In Kwara, APC scored 308,984 to beat PDP which scored 138,184 out of 486,252 total votes cast. Total valid votes was put at 459,676, while rejected votes was put at 26,578. According to the Returning Officer, Prof. Abdullahi Bala, results were cancelled in 6 polling units of Edun, Barutin and Ilorin West due to over voting.
In the case of Nasarawa, it was a slim margin, APC polled 289,903, while PDP polled 283,847 out of 599,399 total votes cast. The total valid votes was put at 580,778, while the rejected votes was put at 18,621, while results of six (6) polling units were cancelled due to what the Returning Officer Prof. Azubike Sunny Nwankwo, described as over voting and gangsterism.
