NUJ President Commiserates with Benue Journalists over Chairman’s death

 President of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Chief Chris Isiguzo has Commiserated with the Benue State Council of the union over the demise of its Chairman, Mrs. Victoria Asher who died as a result of complications that trailed her child birth.

In a condolence message to the Benue State Journalists at the Special Congress of the union, which held at the NUJ Secretariat, Makurdi, Isiguzo described the news of her death as a rude shock. He said the deceased was a dedicated Professional who was always concerned about the growth of the union.

The President who was accompanied by the National Vice President of the union, Noth Central, Chief Wilson Bako, National President, Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Mrs. Ladi Bala maintained that Mrs. Asher left legacies of peace, dedication to the profession.

Continuing, Isiguzo averred that “the late Chairman had the interest of the union at heart. I did all I could to support her. As believers, we can’t question God, He has given and He has taken”, he said. 

The President lamented that Benue Council had buried Asher’s predecessor, the late Comr. David Ukuma not up to two years, describing the death as one too many. He called for concerted prayers by members for God’s intervention.

He paid similar visit to the immediate family of the late Chairman and the Radio Benue Corporation where Mrs. Ahser worked where he Commiserated with them over the loss.
