Buhari seeks confirmation of the appointed service chiefs

President Muhammadu Buhari in a letter dated 27th Jan. 2021 to the house of Representatives seek for the conformation of the newly appointed service chiefs.

The letter which was read on the green floor by the speaker of the house of Representatives, rep Femi Gbajabiala on Wednesday states thus:

“In compliance with the provisions of section 18(1) of the Armed Forces Act, Cap. A 20 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004, I hereby forward for confirmation by the House of Representatives the appointment of the underlisted officers as Chief of Defence Staff and Service Chiefs of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria”.

The newly appointed service chiefs includes: Maj. Gen. Lucky Eluonye Onyenuchea Irabor – Chief of Defence Staff, Maj. Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru – Chief of Army Staff, Rear Admiral Awwal Zubairu Gambo – Chief of Naval Staff, Air Vice Marshal Isiaka O. Amao – Chief of Air Staff.

The screening of the new service chiefs was thereafter referred to the new established special committee of the House of Representatives
