The criminal gang had been terrorizing the Okura axis of Dekina Local government areas for years engaging in kidnapping and armed robbery thereby preventing personalities from visiting their country homes during festivity and programmes.

When contacted, the Divisional Police Officer, Sylvester. A. said he was not competent to speak to the press on that matter stressing that all questions should be channelled to the PPRO.

Confirming the report, however, Dekina council chairman, Hon Ishaq Okolo said he was aware of the operation noting that the security operatives were acting on the instructions of the governor of Kogi State to fish out criminal elements wherever they are in the society.

Okolo urged members of the public to always give useful information that could lead to the arrest of criminals stressing that all hands must be on deck to ensure a crime-free society.
