Laycon emerges winner of Big Brother Naija

Olamilekan Agbeleshe popularly known as Laycon has emerged winner of the 2020 BBNaija Lockdown edition, beating 19 other housemates to win the grand prize of N85m.

He became the winner of the 5th edition of the reality TV show which was dubbed the Lockdown edition. The show premiered on July 19, 2020 amid the height of the coronavirus pandemic lockdown and ended on September 27, 2020.

Laycon, who is also a musical artiste, has been in the spotlight from the outset of the show thanks to his involvement in a love triangle with fellow housemates, Erica and billionaire’s son, Kiddwayya. He managed to garner an overwhelming public sympathy when Erica chose Kidwayya over him and also went on to spite him in the big brother house.

He became the first housemate in the history of the show to make up to a million followers on Instagram while in the house and has a strong following called ‘Icons’.

Laycon led by 60 per cent votes followed by first runner-up,  Dorathy, with 21.85 per cent votes.  Also, second runner-up, Nengi had 15.03 per cent votes.

In his message to his fans, Laycon said; “I love you guys so much and I will never take you for granted. God bless you”

The breakdown of the 2020 BBNaija Lockdown Edition grand prize includes; N30m cash prize; a two-bedroom apartment courtesy of Revolution Plus; Sports Utility Vehicle from Nigerian automaker, Innoson Motors; a trip to Dublin courtesy of Guinness; home appliances courtesy of Scanfrost.

Others are a trip to Dubai packaged by Travelbeta; a year’s supply of Indomie noodles, Munch it, and Colgate toothpaste; a year’s supply of Pepsi, a branded chiller, trip to watch the UEFA Champions League final; and a brand new Oppo mobile smartphone.
