Benue State Government in partnership with the Eunice Spring of Life Foundation, ESPL, and other development partners are to render free medical services to over twelve thousand Internally Displaced Persons in various camps across Benue State.
Leader of the medical team, Mrs Lizzy Aganyi said the aim is to reach out to the aforementioned group to ameliorate their sufferings.
Briefing Journalists in Gbajimba, Guma Local Government Area of the state, Mrs Aganyi explained that six hundred and fifty four IDPs have benefited from laboratory test, one hundred and sixty one from surgery, one hundred and eigty eight were referred to further medical attention.
She maintained that eight thousand eight hundred and sixty one Persons were treated in Gbajimba, one thousand one hundred and thirty six received treatment in Ukpam, five hundred and seventy six IDPs were treated in Daudu.
Mrs Aganyi Implored the beneficiaries to imbibe personal hygiene and be sexually disciplined to avoid contacting sexually transmitted diseases.
Meanwhile, arrangements have been concluded to extend the medical outreach to the camps in Makurdi and Agatu Local Government Areas respectively.
