Gunmen Kill Two Pastors in Benue

Two Pastors, Moses Ujoko and Emmanuel Eleje have been shot dead in Ocholo community of Konshisha Local Government Area of Benue State by yet to be Identified gunmen.


Day Break’s checks have revealed that the renewed boundary crisis between Bonta in Konshisha and Okpute in Oju Local Government Areas have claimed several lives.
Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom who condemned the killing of Benue clerics on Sunday, described the heinous act as barbaric and unacceptable.


Ortom urged security operatives to arrest those responsible for the killing of the two Pastors. He enjoined the Chairman, Konshisha Local Government and other stakeholders to ensure that the killers and their sponsor are made to face the wrath of the law.


The Governor warned those jeopardizing the state’s efforts to end the crisis between Konshisha and Oju to steer clear and give peace a chance.


Ortom who reaffirmed the resolve of his administration not to surrender the state to criminals, called on Benue people to support security agents with timely and useful information to ensure security of lives and property.


The Governor urged the people of the area to remain calm, assuring that the boundary between the two Communities would soon be demarcated. He said arrangements are in top gear for the boundary committee to demarcate the area.
