POB: Police declares Anaenugwu Chinonso wanted

I

The police say it has continued a manhunt for a notorious member of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mr. Anaenugwu Chinonso Kingsley.

The wanted suspect was said to have participated in a clash involving the IPOB members and security forces in the Nkpor Area of Anambra State on…..

Kingsley is a native of Umuatulu Avobu town, Enugwu Ukwu in Anambra State, South East Nigeria.

The IPOB has been demanding for a separate country for the Igbo people of South-East Nigeria, a development that earned the organization a terrorist group from the government.

In a latest police bulletin, Kingsley is said to have remained on the run after the clash between the IPOB members and security agencies, which left casualties on both sides.

The IPOB members were said to have been on a procession when they were confronted by security agencies.

According to the police bulletin, “we want him dead or alive to come and answer for all his activities in connection with the unlawful activities of the IPOB.

“We cannot allow people under the guise of IPOB to overrun Nigerian territories under the guise of IPOB. We, therefore, appeal to Nigerians to report his presence anywhere he is sighted,” the police said.

Meanwhile, one of Kingsley’s extended family members, when contacted by our correspondent, said the police were after their brother for no just cause.

He noted that “the crime our brother committed was asking to be allowed to be in a country of his choice. Self-determination is not a crime except in Nigeria.

“IPOB has never in any way gone contrary to the rule of law of Nigeria, rather it is security agencies that are clamping down on them.

“As we speak, their family house was burnt down, many of his relatives have been killed under the tag of being IPOB. We are calling on the international community to intervene over what is happening in South-East Nigeria.

“The fire incident claimed the life of his mother, Ananenugwu Magreath; the poor widow died a very gruesome death as no one could save her from the fire which was set by security agencies.

“Both Kingsley and his only surviving sister are nowhere to be found. So, the police are even in a better position to tell us where they are; if they have killed them, they should make their bodies available to us for burial,” he lamented.
