Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has been honoured with the “Statesman Restoration and Security Award” by the Nigerian Christian Civil Chaplain Corps (NCCC) in recognition of his leadership and efforts toward governance and security in the state.The award was presented during the Abia State Security Prayer Summit organised by the NCCC, an event that brought together religious leaders, security officials and community stakeholders to pray for peace and stability.
At the ceremony, the award was received on behalf of the governor by CSP Evongwa. The Abia State Commissioner of Police, Danladi Isa, and representatives of security agencies, including the Department of State Services (DSS) and the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), were in attendance.
Speaking during the summit, Chaplain Daniel Joe Alimi, Corps Commanding Officer of the Nigerian Christian Civil Chaplain Corps, led prayers for national unity, peace and improved security across Nigeria and Abia State.The event also emphasised collaboration between faith-based organisations and security institutions in promoting peace, civic responsibility and community safety.
Officials said the summit formed part of broader efforts to encourage public participation in peacebuilding initiatives and strengthen cooperation among government institutions, security agencies and religious bodies.The programme was coordinated by Chaplain Dr. Joel Kelechi Ezirim, Commanding Officer of the NCCC Abia State Command and registrar of Trinity Theological College.Participants called for unity and collective responsibility in supporting security and development efforts across the state.
