Abuja Bureau De Change Operators,Shut Down Operations Over Dollar Scarcity

Abuja Bureau De Change otherwise known as BDC Operators have announced the closure of their business in the capital city indefinitely from today Thursday, February 1, 2024.

The chairman of the Association, Abdulahi Dauran, who gave the notice said the scarcity of US Dollars was responsible for their decision. He said they could nolonger operate as dollar was not in the market.

He also blamed the scarcity of the dollar on online banking transactions and cryptocurrency

The announcement is coming despite the Central Bank of Nigeira (CBN) clearing off the verified backlog of foreign airlines on Tuesday.

Yesterday the value of the Naira at the official market dipped significantly trading as high N1,513 per dollar.
