Adamawa State Police arrests fake NYSC Member

Operatives of the Intelligence Bureau of the Adamawa State Police Command have arrested a man identified as, Dada Gbeniga Ayomilekan, for allegedly parading himself as a National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, member.

The state’s Police Public Relations Officer, Deputy Superintendent of Police Suleiman Nguroje, in a press statement, said the fake corps member was arrested during an intensive surveillance patrol by the operatives, who were on a patrol to ensure safety and security in NYSC Orientation Camp in Girei Local Government Area, Yola.

Documents found on him included, a forged Higher National Diploma certificate and fake identity card among others

According to Nguroje, the suspect who is a resident of Hokolul Street, Oyun Tipper Garage, Ilorin, Kwara State, claimed to have graduated from the Plateau State Polytechnic with a Lower Credit grade and was sent to NYSC orientation camp and arrested on the 6th September 2021.

The Commissioner of Police, Aliyu Adamu, called on members of the public around the NYSC Camp, not to hesitate to report any suspicious conduct in and around the camp to police officers.

He also directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police, (CID), to immediately prosecute the suspect, and anyone found committing a similar offence.
