The Secretary of the Nigeria Police Affairs, Alhaji Ahmad Aliyu who emerged the winner of the APC gubernatorial race in Sokoto carted away 1080 votes in the just concluded indirect primaries.
Accepting the outcome of primary election, Ahmad Alitu promised to maintain the public resources accordingly saying he was contesting to enrich himself but to execute projects and provide necessities where needed.
Senator Abdullahi Gobir who came second with 36 votes congratulate the winner and promised to support his candidature and the entire position under the APC umbrella in the forthcoming general elections.
Ambassador Yusuf Suleiman and Faruk Malami Yabo who left the venue of the primaries before the commencement of votes scored 16 and 27 votes respectively.
Similarly, Alhaji Abubakar Abdullahi Gumbi with one vote also left the venue before the count.
Earlier, the Chairman of the electoral committee, Umar Kyari confirmed and signed the electoral documents in the presence of all that were at the venue urging all contestants to accept the result in good faith as it has been the will of God that one person must emerge winner.
23 votes were announced as invalid.
