The first Class chief of Jukun kingdom, who double as the chairman of traditional chief’s in Taraba state, Aku Uka Shakarau Angy Masa ibi the second has called for a meeting with stakeholders in both Tiv and Jukun to brainstorm on how to provide lasting solution to the lingering crisis bedevilling them.
The meeting which took place at the palace of the Aku in wukari has in attendance the traditional chiefs from Taraba and Benue state, security chief, local government chairman from both Benue and Taraba.
Speaking at the occasion the Aku Uka said the Tiv and Jukuns have been leaving in peace since time and wondered why the killing and burning of houses of one another in recent years.
Aku Uka appealed to both parties to remain calm and called for unity among the two tribes in the state in the interest of development and urged Tiv and Jukun to respect one another as well as the laws and constituted authorites.
Also speaking, First class chief of sankera in Benue state Abu king shuluwa and that of logo among others who spoke at the occasion condemned in strong teams the activities of Jukun and Tiv youths who ferment trouble run to Benue or Wukari to hideout.
The traditional chiefs commended the Aku Uka for his untiring effort at peace in the area and called on both parties to lay their down their arms and embrace peace.
High point of the occasion was the signing of the resolution reached at the end of the meeting by the traditional chiefs, Security agencies, Local Government Chairmen among others
