Alema of Warri Praises Delta Ex-Governor Uduaghan’s Contributions to Nigeria on His 70th Birthday

Former Delta State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan, has been commended by the Alema of Warri, Chief Emmanuel Oritsejolomi Uduaghan, for his exceptional leadership and service to Nigeria as he celebrates his 70th birthday. The ex-governor was celebrated for his dedication to humanitarian causes, promotion of women’s rights, and fostering strong relationships with traditional institutions across the country.

In a statement, the Alema of Warri praised Uduaghan for his integrity, calling him “a rare gift to the fatherland.” He highlighted the former governor’s efforts to promote the rights of minors, encourage women’s participation in politics, and build bridges of hope for the future.

During his tenure as governor, Uduaghan is credited with creating an environment conducive to sustainable development. His focus on peace and security, human capital development, and infrastructural growth were key pillars of his administration. The Alema noted his commitment to the Niger Delta’s development, economic prosperity, education, and entrepreneurship, as well as investments in electricity, housing, and transportation.

“Your three-point agenda—peace and security, human capital development, and infrastructure—transformed Delta State during your eight-year tenure,” the Alema said, describing it as a “glorious and memorable period.”

Uduaghan’s contributions to healthcare were also highlighted. As Commissioner for Health, he upgraded several health centers, provided rehabilitation funds for hospitals, and improved welfare for health workers. His leadership in the sector established industrial peace and laid the groundwork for significant progress.

The statement emphasized Uduaghan’s administrative skill and political acumen, particularly during his time as Secretary to the Delta State Government under Chief James Onanefe Ibori. His open-door policy and participatory management style were lauded as key to his successful governance.

The Alema of Warri, also the CEO of Webster Group of Companies, praised Uduaghan’s legacy in tourism, sports, housing, and his free maternal healthcare program for pregnant women in Delta State. The ex-governor’s scholarship schemes, microcredit initiatives, and agricultural programs were recognized as life-changing for many Deltans.

In conclusion, the Alema of Warri expressed his heartfelt congratulations: “On behalf of myself, my family, and the good people of Abigborodo, I join all well-meaning Nigerians in celebrating an astute and upright leader. I pray to Almighty God to protect him, grant him more wisdom, strength, and good health to continue serving mankind.”
