A Christian religious group under the aegis of ‘Borno State Indigenous Pastors Forum’ has been accused of existing purposely for share materialism and personal gains rather than spiritual purposes.

Making the assertion in statement made available to journalists, a Kanuri Born rights Activist Amb. Rev. Kallamu Musa Ali Dikwa challenged the forum for doing nothing on alleged discrimination against Christian community by Borno State government.

Rev. Dikwa, Director General Center for Justice on religious and Ethnicity in Nigeria’s statement reads “Borno State indigenous Pastors Forum is for them to be gaining worldly materials and money from the Borno state political leaders.

“But they’re given some meaningless reasons that an Igbo, Yoruba or any other tribes who are not indigenes cannot present the problems that indigenous Christians are going through in the hands of Muslim government officials or challenge the Borno State political leaders.

“But even the these so-called indigenous pastors never challenge the state government on the discrimination against Christian community in the state for ones time. 13-15 villages in Chibok LGA burnt down”, it stated.

The statement stressed that *17 Chibok schoolgirls that were rescued by Nigerian military from B’Haram terrorist, hand them over to Borno state governor for over 4 years now, but the governor refused to reunite them with their parents.

“The reason is that these 17 Christian girls are already been converted to Islam by B’Haram and if the governor hand them over to their parents they’ll go back to their former religion Christianity”, he stated.

Rev. Dikwa so stated that “Gwoza Christian community completely occupied by the B’Haram terrorist for 9 years and over 100,000 Christian are not in their community, yet the so-called indigenous didn’t do anything about the matter.

“The so-called Church leaders always politiciasing and creating problem in the body of Christ. The aims and purposes for creating Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) by the founding fathers is to advocate for the rights of Christians in Northern Nigeria.

“It suppose to be Christian Advocacy of Nigeria but now turned to be political body of Church leaders created 5 blocs of CAN just using for their worldly material gains and they have forgotten it’s against the “Motto” of the CAN, taken from John 17:20-21: Jesus prays for unity of His children.

“Also now in Borno State some Pastors are creating more division among the body; created Chairman Rev. Iliya Ndirmbita, Vice Chairman Rev. James Danladi and Secrtary Rev. Joseph Bwala”, he emphasized.

With lamentations, the Kanuri Born Dikwa indigene explained that “We have 27 LGAs in Borno State, 9 LGAs from Southern Borno, 19 from central and Northern Borno the 19 is dominated by Kanuri tribe, and Kanuri are the origin of Borno state, We have Kanuri Pastors but no Kanuri among the indigenous Pastor Forum”.

Earlier, he stated” From December 2024 to January 2025, hundreds of houses and Churches were burnt down by the B’Haram terrorist group in Chibok LG, and now youths from this areas are selling their farm products, to be leaving their communities because of fear of attacks and killings by B’Haram terrorist and non of these so-called indigenous Pastors are not saying anything about the matter.

He also revealed that “Governor Babagana Umara Zulum build Islamic High Institutions in these 4 LGAs, why are the pre-dominantly Christians, the so-called indigenous Pastors didn’t say anything or challenge the state governor to be justice, equity and fairness for all”.
