Army Vows to Overcome Terrorists and Bandits, Declares COAS

In a firm declaration, the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, has assured Nigerians of the military’s unwavering commitment to completely eradicate terrorists, bandits, and other security threats plaguing the nation.

Lt. Gen. Lagbaja emphasized the army’s determination to restore peace across the country, amidst ongoing security challenges, including terrorism, banditry, and kidnapping, which have led to loss of lives, abductions, and displacement of citizens.

In his Easter message on Sunday, Lt. Gen. Lagbaja highlighted the achievements of the Nigerian Army in various operations, particularly in the ongoing Operation Hadin Kai in the North East and other internal security operations nationwide.

He stated, “The Nigerian Army remains committed, determined, and focused on ensuring the total defeat of insurgents, marauding bandits, and all other forms of external and internal aggressions disturbing the peace of the country.”

Under his leadership, the COAS affirmed that the army has made significant strides, attributing the successes to the dedication and efforts of officers and soldiers.

To bolster the army’s capabilities, Lt. Gen. Lagbaja emphasized his commitment to providing the necessary training and resources, aligning with his command philosophy to transform the Nigerian Army into a well-trained, equipped, and highly-motivated force.

He reiterated his dedication to prioritizing the welfare and training of personnel, ensuring they have the requisite equipment and support to effectively discharge their constitutional responsibilities.

As the nation continues to confront security challenges, Lt. Gen. Lagbaja urged army personnel to utilize the Easter celebration as a time for reflection and prayer, seeking divine intervention against negative forces hindering Nigeria’s peace and progress.
