Assassination Attempt on Senator Lawal: Kaduna Police Command Denies Knowledge

By Achadu Gabriel, Kaduna

The Kaduna State Police Command has denied knowledge of an alleged assassination attempt on Senator Usman Lawal Adamu, representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District.

In a statement dated January 2, signed by the command’s spokesman, DSP Mansir Hassan, the police noted that they were not formally informed of the incident.

“The attention of the command has been drawn to a publication on the Facebook handle of Senator Usman Lawal Adamu, PDP representative of Kaduna Central Senatorial District, claiming he escaped an assassination attempt by unidentified thugs at an undisclosed location in Kaduna North on January 2, 2025. No specific time of the incident was provided,” the statement read.

The command further stated: “Without mincing words, the Command is yet to receive any formal complaint from the distinguished Senator, aside from this astonishing publication on social media. All efforts to contact him have proved abortive.”

The Commissioner of Police, CP Muhammad Rabiu, has ordered a full-scale investigation into the matter.

The Kaduna State Police Command also reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all residents in the state.
