Bandits kill Sen. Marafa’s sister, abduct husband, son.

Suspected bandits have allegedly attacked some communities in Tsafe local government of Zamfara state and allegedly slain twenty persons including the elder sister of a serving Senator, Kabiru Garba Marafa.

Witness account from Aliyu Bawa Mada availed to Daybreak idicates that the bandits simulteniously stormed the communities of Ruwan Bore, Fegin Mahe, Tudun Wadan Mai Jatau and Dakoka, killing many and setting houses and food items ablaze.

The witness further narrated that the bandits killed thirteen persons in Tudun Wada village and set many houses and large quantity of food stock ablaze.

In Ruwan Bore community, it appeared that the specific target was the elder sister of Senator Marafa who, according to the witness, the killers have put a rifle into her mouth and shot her dead.

He said after killing the woman, the hoodlums abducted her husband and a boy related the family.

It is recalled that the bandits have last Sunday, attacked the Tudun Wada community and killed nine persons, bringing the number of casualties to twenty-two after the subsequent attack the following day.

In a humanitarian response to sypathise with the situation, the PDP guber candidate in the state Hon. Bello Muhammad Matawalle announces the suspension of his campaign to commesurate with the victims.

As at the time of compiling this report, there was no response from the state police spokesman SP Muhammad Shehu for comment over the unfortunate incidence.
