Bandits Kill Varsity Lecturer, Abduct Two Children, Others in Katsina

In a tragic incident, bandits killed Dr. Gyang, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture at the Federal University Dutsin-Ma (FUDMA), and abducted his two children along with two other women in Katsina. The attack occurred at around 1:00 am in the Low-cost Quarters area, behind Comprehensive Hospital in Dutsinma.

We later learnt that Dr. Tiri was killed and his two children abducted. His remains have been taken to a mortuary in Katsina,” a source stated.

We were supposed to meet today at 8 AM in my office. The university and Dutsinma communities are deeply affected by this loss.”

-Comrade Yahaya Salisu Aba, President of the National Association of Agricultural Students, FUDMA Chapter, shared: “We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of our beloved father, mentor, and role model, Dr. Tiri Gyana, of the Department of Agricultural Economics. But the entire FOA and NAAS FUDMA Chapter wants you to know that we are here for you and care about you for this great loss. We have lost someone special, and we are truly sorry for the loss. Dr. Tiri was a special person, jovial and gentle to the Faculty, and we pray his light will always shine on. To the family, you are not alone, and we all care about you deeply.”
