Bauchi Sisters Arrested for Brutally Assaulting 19-Year-Old Woman in Jealous Rage

Two sisters, Fatima Sani (17) and Zulaihat Sani (15), were taken into custody in Bauchi State following an incident involving the severe assault of a 19-year-old woman. The siblings allegedly lured the victim to a house under false pretenses, where they attacked her and poured scalding hot water on her. The motive behind the assault appears to be the victim’s alleged relationship with one of the sisters’ husbands.

According to Bauchi State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, Superintendent Ahmed Wakil, the disturbing incident occurred on Saturday in the Gida Dubu area of Bauchi metropolis. The swift action of the police led to the arrest of the perpetrators, carried out by officers from the ‘C’ Division, led by the Divisional Police Officer.

Providing further details, Superintendent Wakil stated, “On June 10, 2023, at 2:00 pm, police detectives from the ‘C’ Police Divisional Headquarters of Bauchi Metropolis acted on credible information. They learned that at 1:07 pm on the same day, a 19-year-old female named Sa’adatu Abdurrahman Liman, who resides behind the old airport in Bauchi, was deceitfully taken to a house in the Gida Dubu area by Fatima Muhammad Sani (17) and her sister, Zulaihat Muhammad Sani (15), both residents of Gida Dubu. The suspects collaborated in assaulting Sa’adatu and subsequently pouring boiling water on her, resulting in serious injuries to her neck and cheeks.”

Superintendent Wakil condemned the appalling act, clarifying that the assailants carried out their actions due to their belief that the victim was involved with one of the sisters’ husbands. Upon receiving the report, the police swiftly intervened, arresting the culprits and ensuring that the victim received immediate medical attention at a hospital.

Both the primary suspect and her accomplice have admitted their involvement in the crime during the course of the investigation. They will be charged accordingly and brought before a court of law to face prosecution for the established offenses.
