The wife of the Bayelsa State Governor,
Dr. Mrs.Gloria Diri has presented cash and other mother care gift items to this year’s Christmas Baby.
The baby, a male child, delivered at the Federal Medical Centre, Yenagoa and weighing 3Kg arrived about 12.03 a.m., on Christmas day and was born to Mr. and Mrs. Jane Idemoh, who hails from Okordia Town in Yenagoa Local Government Area of the state.
The First Lady while making the presentation, thanked God for the safe delivery of the baby.
She advised parents to train and bring up their children based on the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ.
She said bringing up children in this way would enable them become good citizens of the society.
Dr. Gloria Diri also presented cash gifts to other nursing mothers in the maternity ward whose baby arrived few hours after the first Christmas baby. Wishing them a Merry Christmas and a Prosperous new year.
Dr.Gloria Diri explained that her visit was to significantly rejoice with parents and babies whose whose birth coincided with the day the entire world was celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ.
Director of Nursing Services, Mrs Margaret Julius who introduced the baby and mother to the First Lady, commended her for visiting the hospital and also extending the cash gift to other nursing mothers as well as staff on duty.
The mother of the ‘Christmas baby’ Mrs Jane Idemoh expressed her appreciation and excitement for the honor given to her by the First Lady of the State.
