Bayern Munich have reportedly made it clear that Michael Olise is not for sale this summer, despite growing interest from Chelsea following the winger’s sensational performances this season.
Olise has been one of the standout players in Europe since joining Bayern Munich from Crystal Palace in 2024, forming a deadly attacking partnership alongside Harry Kane and Luis Díaz.
The French winger has enjoyed a remarkable campaign, scoring 21 goals and delivering several memorable performances, including a stunning strike against Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League.
According to reports, Bayern’s hierarchy consider the 24-year-old “untouchable” and have no intention of entertaining offers for him.
The club’s position is believed to stem from a decision made years ago after Chelsea attempted to sign Bayern legend Franck Ribery for what would have been a world-record fee in 2009.
Former Bayern chief Karl-Heinz Rummenigge explained that the German giants decided they would never again sell players considered irreplaceable from a sporting perspective.
“In 2009, we received an incredible offer from Chelsea for Franck Ribery. It would have been a new world transfer record at the time,” Rummenigge said.
“That day, we made a fundamental decision that we would no longer sell players whose departure would weaken us sporting-wise. That unwritten rule still applies today.”
He added: “For a player like Olise, there is no price tag that would make us flinch.”
Olise joined Bayern for around £50 million and has continued to justify the investment with another outstanding season.
Rummenigge also praised the winger’s humble personality and unique talent.
“He is a wonderful player. I like the fact that he is reserved and almost media-shy, which is rare in today’s football world,” he said.
“On the pitch, he performs magic. It’s no surprise fans love him so much.”
Bayern manager Vincent Kompany also backed Olise to become one of the world’s best players.
“He’s on the right path. Everything he does is right now, and his level is among the best in Europe,” Kompany stated.
Chelsea had previously shown interest in signing Olise during his time at Crystal Palace, but their hopes of bringing him to Stamford Bridge now appear unlikely.
