By Isaac Kertyo, Makurdi

Benue State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress APC, has suspended, Senator Barnabas Gemade and Prof Terhemba Shija over anti party activities.

Briefing Journalists during the extraordinary Congress of the party in Makurdi, state Chairman of APC, Mr Austin Agada explained that the party took the decision against two of its members for instituting Court cases against the party to ensure it didn’t present a Governorship candidate for the last general election.

His words: ” Among our members, there are two distinguished individuals that were involved thoroughly in not just frustrating the party that the party should not have a candidate but ensured that the APC did not win at the polls.

He accused both Sen Gemade and Prof Shija for allegedly conniving with the People’s Democratic party to ensure that the party’s victory is frustrated.

” They took APC to court to ensure that the victory given to us was thwarted. Chief Gemade lost his pulling unit, ward and local government to PDP,” Agada pointed out.

According to the Chairman, Shija’s offense is that he took the party to court to ensure that APC did not feature gubernatorial candidate. “They didn’t stop at that, today they are in connivance with the PDP to ensure that our victory is frustrated”.

Meanwhile, the party’s State Working Committee has referred Chief Gemade and Prof Shija to the party’s disciplinary committee for necessary action.
