Findings by Day Break showed that the protest which lasted for more than an hour witnessed massive turn out of students from deferent universities who marched on the major streets of Makurdi, the Benue State capital.    Day Break learnt that ASUU, had embarked on industrial action on 23rd March, 2020 to protest government’s directive to enroll all members on the Integrated Payroll and Personal Information System, IPPIS.    The union is also pressing home their demand for the implementation of the pact it had entered into with the federal government on the 2012 universities’ Needs Assessment.    A 300 level student of the Benue State University Makurdi who did not want his name published told our correspondent that they are tired of staying at home, hence the need to embark on the protest.
